We began our time together on a Saturday morning with all worship team members involved in an evaluation of where we were in our ministry, including strengths and weaknesses, and moved on to what our vision for ministry was, ending the session on what we thought we needed to do to reach these goals. Ted did not push his style of worship; rather he spent most of his time listening and then made comments and suggestions. From there we rehearsed the Sunday morning music, and again Ted began by listening. He then made suggestions. Specific recommendations were given to all facets of the worship ministry. That time was followed by group sessions with the instrumentalists, the vocalists, and the sound system personnel. The sessions were conducted in a very positive and constructive manner. Limitations were openly discussed and suggestions for improvement or ways to work through or around shortcomings were provided.
The Sunday morning worship followed our usual pattern, but the coaching and improvements that Ted had suggested made a truly noticeable difference.
